CWA-IBT and American Airlines have reached an agreement that will lower employee contributions to the Core Option of the Medical Plan by 30 percent.
Your CWA bargaining committee met with the Envoy Bargaining Committee from July 25-27. To begin, Envoy presented counter proposals on Schedule Bidding. The Union gave counter proposals on Filling of Vacancies and Schedule Bidding.

Recent News

The CWA bargaining team met on July 17 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to work on counter proposals we received from the company during our last round of bargaining.

From July 18 to 20, we met with the company’s bargaining team to continue working toward a fair and equitable contract for all members. Over the course of the three days we focused on Article 4: Filling of Vacancies, Article 5: Furlough, Article 8: Overtime, and Article 15: Sick Leave. Both bargaining teams passed several counter proposals on these articles. 

Our CWA-IBT Passenger Service Employee Association has documented the negative impacts of new uniforms since they were introduced last September, and management is taking the issue seriously. Our union is working with American Airlines management to ensure that future uniforms address agents' concerns.

In May, four CWA members from American Airlines attended a two-day training session in Dallas for internal organizers. One take-away: "if we don't get everyone else unionized, it will end up hurting us."
