Putting Health and Safety First in the COVID-19 Era

It’s been a year since the global COVID-19 pandemic began turning our industry and our lives upside down, and CWA airline agents have been on the front lines at stations across the country. Recently we had a chance to talk to some American and Piedmont agents who have been in the trenches, dealing with COVID-19 and other health and safety issues.

Education Scholarships for 250 Airline Agents

A total of 250 passenger service agents received scholarships from the CWA National Education and Training Trust CWA/NETT) in the past few months. The agents took advantage of the funds to pursue new knowledge and brush up on valuable skills.

Tell Your Senators: EXTEND PSP NOW!

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the American Rescue Plan, which includes extension of the Payroll Support Program (PSP) through September 30, 2021. It's now time to make sure the Senate passes the bill to maintain our jobs before PSP expires in mid-March!

Piedmont Bargaining Update for August 2017

The CWA bargaining team met on August 14 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to work on counter proposals we received from the company during our last round of bargaining. We also worked on our economic package.

Update: New Uniforms Selection Process for American Airlines

Our CWA-IBT Passenger Service Employee Association has documented the negative impacts of new uniforms since they were introduced last September, and management is taking the issue seriously. Our union is working with American Airlines management to ensure that future uniforms address agents' concerns.

UPDATE: Call Center Legislation Gains Momentum

"Boot Camp" Training in Dallas Inspires American Organizers

In May, four CWA members from American Airlines attended a two-day training session in Dallas for internal organizers. One take-away: "if we don't get everyone else unionized, it will end up hurting us."

Envoy Bargaining Update for June 2017

Your bargaining committee met with the Envoy Bargaining Committee June 6-9, 2017. CWA and Envoy reached agreement on Hours of Service and Preamble.
